Mark / Shark

Mark joined the band with a keyboard a few years after the other brothers. At that time, they were together as a 3-man band, and he was the 4th brother to join. That was 15 years ago and since then the number of songs in the “music bible” has grown quite a bit! You can hear influences of Ronnie Milsap and Mickey Gilley, as well as Billy Joel and Elton John in the way he plays. He sings both backup vocals and lead on a few songs. Listen for the high harmony it’s probably him.
The keys have a versatile sound from piano, organ, trumpet/brass, strings and guitar. Sometimes it’s a challenge to find the right sound to accent yet blend in. We use a Yamaha Mofx 8 keyboard with a Roland sustain pedal and Roland KC-400 stage PA. That is a super flexible combo that has worked fantastic for both practice and live performance. In addition, we use a FocusRite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface to put keys and vocals into full digital format for mixing. It’s incredible what can be done with a small amount of equipment!
Mark helped design the artwork for the CD covers and the discs, as well as the web site and posters. He also works with our clothing vendor (Henry Embroidery and Screenprinting) for great looking hats, shirts and hoodies. Mark loves to make people smile by goofing around or telling a joke. If you’re not having a good time you are with the wrong band! Ask him about karaoke songs he likes to sing! Many great stories to be heard from that.
