Jay / Pooch

Another Founding Member of the band, Jay, has played on several drum kits over the 20+ years with the band. In addition, he enjoys playing guitar and singing a variety of classic country and hard rock classics. Typically you hear a few cymbals and some cowbell thrown in for good effect, and he uses a double-bass pedal for rapid-fire beats. You can hear influences of George Jones, George Strait and Conway Twitty on the country side, and Journey, Chicago and Boston on the rock side.
Jay has been a major influence on the sound of the band with control over tempo, keeping time and fills. In a sense he “drives” each song and provides audible clues as to changes to bridge and chorus as well as the finish/outro of each song. It’s an invaluable part the keeps us on-track and sounding good.
With a Dad Joke at every turn he loves good laugh and spending time playing music and singing with friends. He sings karaoke and participates in the usual shenanigans. Most days/nights Jay is working hard and spends his off-hours enjoying homecooked meals and cold beverages. Jay is incredibly talented and fun to work with. Chat with him at an upcoming show and ask him about the cymbal stand that’s been to EVERY SINGLE SHOW…quite a legacy!
